After ploughing £60m into the North East in 2011 with barmy purchases of Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll, Liverpool are refusing to pay less than £20m for Sinclair. Swansea value the player at £10m.
Kenny Dalglish is also looking at bringing in Uncle Bryn and Fireman Sam, who are ranked the second and third best footballers in Wales, respectively.
Meanwhile, trendy Rangers boss Ally McCoist is taking inspiration from the club scene by signing Estonian full back Enar Jaager from Aalesunds in Norway, and hopes it will be the first of many similar transfers.
McCoist said: “We want more moves like Jaager, moves like Jaager, mooooves like Jaager.”
